Teacher and Education Advisors (Volunteer) sought for deprived children in the foothills of the Himalayas, Pakistan. The Kaghan Memorial Trust is currently recruiting experienced teachers to work on a volunteer basis at its Kaghan Memorial School (KMS) in the Kaghan Valley, Northern Pakistan.
We are looking for qualified female teachers to fill these positions in as soon as possible with a commitment to work with us for one full year (the start period is dependent on the issuance of a one year NGO visa, processing which takes around 2-3 months).
The main responsibilities of these teachers will include:as
Developing daily lesson plans for the lessons assigned to them;
Delivering lessons for their assigned classes and subjects;
Working with, and supervising, the KMS local teaching team to ensure that lessons are delivered and assessed according to the vision of the School and in line with modern teaching practices;
Providing training and support for the local teachers working at KMS;
Developing and improving the KMS curriculum;
Organising events and activities at KMS for the students and staff;
Performing administrative duties related to classroom management such as inventorying of supplies and maintenance of class lists.
Applicants will need to have a college degree and experience teaching children and/or teaching English as a second language. Experience overseas will be an asset. Fluency in Urdu is not a necessity as KMS international teachers are supported in their classrooms by local teachers and teaching assistants who act as interpreters when required. It is essential that the candidate has a strong sense of commitment to the Trust’s objectives and is willing to volunteer to work for KMT for at least one full year. The applicant should also be able to readily adapt to different cultures.
